What if you already have the answer?

In a recent coaching session, I had a powerful conversation with a brilliant business owner facing a big decision about the future of her business.

She was trying everything to find clarity — asking fellow business owners, scrolling through endless advice online, asking ChatGPT, signing up for more trainings and masterclasses, even running her ideas past friends and family (who, although well-meaning, knew nothing about running a business).

The result?

Not clarity — but overwhelm. Total analysis paralysis.

And then she had a breakthrough.

She realised that in all this searching, she hadn’t given herself a moment to stop and listen to her own thoughts. Her own insight. Her own experience. Her own deep knowing.

In fact, she had been so busy looking outside for the answers, she didn’t realise they had been sitting quietly inside her all along — just waiting for space to be heard.

What if you already know more than you think?

This is something I see often in passionate, purpose-driven business owners. You care deeply about doing things right — so when a big decision comes up, you go hunting for the “right” answer out there.

And for many women especially, we’ve been conditioned to seek external validation. To wait for permission. To check our instincts against someone else’s opinion — just to make sure we’re “allowed” to trust ourselves.

And too much input can quickly lead to too much noise. And when you’re listening to everyone else’s voice, it’s really hard to hear your own.

Let’s have compassion for ourselves in these moments, it’s a completely human thing to do. And at the same time, let me invite you to consider the fact that...

You already have so much wisdom, experience and knowing within you. You’ve done hard things before. You’ve followed your gut, made things happen, created real impact.

When you start trusting yourself, you make better decisions. More aligned decisions. And you do it with far less second-guessing.

So how do you actually tune-in to your own wisdom?

Here are 3 ways to create space for your own answers to rise up:

1. Unplug for a moment.
Step away from the noise. That might mean no podcasts, no scrolling, no advice from well-meaning friends. Give yourself a day (or even an hour) where the only voice you tune into is your own.

2. Journal it out.

Ask yourself:
“If no one else could give me the answer — and I had to back myself right now — what decision would I make?”
Let your pen move without editing. You might be surprised at what comes through.

3. Create regular reflection time.
Treat thinking time as sacred — a non-negotiable part of your business strategy. Schedule quiet walks, journaling sessions, or even voice notes to yourself. This is where clarity lives, and your deeper thoughts can slowly rise to the surface.

Coaching can help you hear yourself more clearly

This is exactly where coaching becomes powerful. Not because I give you the answers — but because I help create the space for you to hear yourself again.

Coaching is a container for tuning out the noise, cutting through the confusion, and reconnecting with your own knowing. And when you make decisions from that place — they’re not only smarter, they’re so much more aligned with the business (and life) you actually want to create.
